Following the death of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, George Mason University named it’s law school in his honor: Antonin Scalia School of Law (or the “ASS of Law”). Upon realizing its mistake, the university renamed the school as Antonin Scalia Law School.
Justice Scalia was famous for his acrimonious nature, prizing straightforward rancor over decorum. Given who he was, I imagine even he might appreciate the humor in memorializing his own nature as a legal ass, albeit a brilliant one. He was a character.
