Which countries are the less difficult to get a fiancee to the USA?

Allan, If you could please tell me which of the of these 3 countries are the less difficult to get a fiancee here to the USA. Vietnam, Thailand or Philippines. Thank you.

Steve, Great question. If you are early in dating and can make a choice, then here is the order:
- Philippines. Consulate is strict and bureaucratic, but a fine consulate. It can be difficult to obtain attention from supervisors when there is a problem. I have to work at it each time.
- Thailand. They are o.k. They used to be very good, but now have become less organized and slower, but still this is a good consulate.
- Vietnam. A very distant third place out of the three you have chosen. Avoid dating in Vietnam if possible. It’s a high fraud post, which means the rate of visa refusal is higher at the U.S. Consulate in Ho Chi Minh than at the average consulate. Consulate officers are on their guard. Many of the staff seem quite abrasive toward almost anyone. Some are unfair. It’s a risky place to process because the consulate tends have unpredictable results and is slow. You can wait for ages to get to the interview stage, only to be denied.
I handle visa refusals in this office and so I know how to set up cases properly and follow up on a refusal appropriately, even to the stage of a law suit if necessary. However, obviously you simply want your loved one in the U.S. and so choosing early where to date is a good idea. I hope this helps.

Adnan, It would help to know your nationality and where you reside. You must be able to prove convincingly there is a low risk you will overstay your welcome in the U.S. The fact that you need to return to school to complete your degree is very helpful. Yosrr, Greetings. I could try, but it is unlikely you would be issued a visa based on a waiver of the in-person meeting requirement. The reason for his inability to travel outside the U.S. is due to crimes, so the government will likely not view the waiver request favorably. Even if one was granted, it is likely the U.S. consulate in Tunis will deny your visa application.
When will he be off probation?
If it will be a long time, it may seem odd, but have you considered trying to meet across the U.S./Mexico border? It’s legal if he can get to the border on the U.S. side and if you can get to Mexico, and it can help satisfy the requirement. Here is some information:
